Well, we did it! Another successful BIDE Market is on the books!

I know I’m about a week late on posting but it’s taken me about that long to come up for air, after all the craziness of the holidays. But! I wanted to take some time to recap the event on here, for anyone who wasn’t able to attend….

For those of you who don’t know, BIDE Market is Chicago’s first luxury sustainable shopping experience. With hand-selected vendors across a variety of sectors, BIDE showcases the best of sustainability from Chicago and beyond. The entire market is vegan, cruelty-free, eco-friendly, and zero waste, while still serving up Chicago's finest sustainability guidance, clothing, accessories, beauty products, children’s items and homewares.

Founded on a desire to create bigger impact and fill a void in the market, Parisa Morris created BIDE as a way to provide likeminded vendors and conscious consumers a different kind of shopping experience. As a curated shopping experience created for makers by makers, every brand at BIDE is hand-selected to truly represent the best of sustainability.

After the first market, we knew we were onto something that had the potential to be bigger than we imagined…We set a goal for ourselves that each market would cover new topics and issues, since of course, there’s a lot we can talk about on this topic.

This time around, we had some amazing speakers in the realm of food and beverage including the co-founders of Open Water, a Chicago-based and women owned (woot woot!) aluminum water company, the CEO of WasteNot Compost. We also partnered with a new renewable energy company, HERO Power and had a national representative from LUSH Cosmetics to speak more about the history of Lush and how this international brand keeps sustainability at the forefront of their efforts. And of course, no BIDE would be complete without the amazing Ashlee Piper sharing more of her incredible knowledge in the sustainability space.

Some other fun additions included restorative yoga onsite and well as a DIY sustainable gift wrapping station complete with recycled paper and biodegradable decorative supplies.

This time around we also grew in size! With more than 40 vendors onsite, the holiday BIDE Market offered shoppers a chance to truly gift consciously this holiday season.

As we look to 2020, there’s a lot of exciting things in store for BIDE…it’s crazy to think that 6 months ago this was just and idea, and now we’ve created a movement that’s really picking up speed. I promise I’ll post updates when I have them but for right now, I’m taking a well deserved nap and a few weeks off 😊
