Client Happenings: Ignite Community
“Never lead alone.”
Last Wednesday, I had the opportunity to attend an event with Renetta McCann, the Chief Inclusion Experience Officer of Publicis Groupe, for a “Candid Conversation” experience as part of the Ignite Community (more on that below). Recognized as one of the leading innovators and most influential executives in the advertising, marketing, and media industries, Renetta shared a refreshingly honest look at what we can all do to learn, change, and grow on our personal and professional journey.
While there were numerous takeaways from the conversation with Renetta, I was most engaged with how she honestly spoke about her successes and failures. She shared details of mistakes she had made in her career – both big and small – and she shared them in a way that we could all relate to. From email mishaps to larger accounting issues, it was inspiring to see such a strong leader talk about times that were difficult in hopes that it may create a teachable moment for the rest of us.
The event was hosted by Ignite, a diverse and dynamic community of rising leaders in Chicago who share a hunger for personal and professional growth. With the tagline, “never lead alone,” Ignite is working at the forefront of the movement to create a more connected and inspired workplace and aims to help individuals elevate purpose and promote inclusion through immersive experiences in Chicago and around the world that combine leadership development, community engagement and team connection.
